Meet Your Broward Health Foundation Board of Directors

Paul Anderson – Chair
Paul Anderson has more than 25 years of business, government, management and leadership experience. Most recently, he left the federal government, having been nominated by President George W. Bush in April 2003 as Commissioner of the Federal Maritime Commission. Today he is a maritime executive operating a shipping company based in Boca Raton.

In addition to his role with Broward Health Foundation, Paul serves on the Orange Bowl Committee, is chairman-elect of Winterfest, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Board of Directors of Broward Navy Days. He lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife and their two-year-old son.

Antonio Seminario – Vice Chair

Antonio Seminario is a financial advisor who specializes in philanthropic giving, global asset allocation, fixed income, and alternative investments. He is a frequent speaker on issues relating to investment planning and hosts educational seminars on financial and estate planning. He is the co-founder of the Health and Wellness Seminar Series at Broward Health.

Seminario also serves on the board of directors at Broward College Foundation, where he chairs the Endowed Teaching Chair Committee and is also co-chair of the 2009 Lyceum Awards Gala. In 2007, he created the Antonio Seminario Endowed Scholarship Fund. A native of Piura, Peru, Seminario grew up in Sullivan, Illinois, and has resided in Fort Lauderdale for more than 20 years.

Ken Ortner - Treasurer

Ken Ortner is a certified public accountant and is president of the local Fort Lauderdale firm, Kenneth A. Ortner, P.A. He has over 25 years of experience serving the international tax community, high net worth individuals, professional service firms, not-for-profit entities and the real estate industry.

In addition to serving as a board member for Broward Health Foundation, Ortner is the treasurer of Winterfest, Inc., a board member (and past president) of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale Trust, and president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association. In recent years, he has served as treasurer of South Andrews Business Association (SABA) and Broward Education Foundation. He has also served on several other civic and not-for-profit boards and is a graduate of Leadership Broward, Class IV. Ortner and his wife live in Fort Lauderdale and he has two grown daughters.

Gerald Weber – Secretary

Gerald (Gerry) WB Weber is president and CEO of Lady of America Franchise Corporation. A visionary executive, Weber has a proven history of success in the operation of multi-million dollar companies such as NationsRent, AutoNation and Blockbuster Entertainment.

In addition to Broward Health Foundation, he serves on the executive board of the Humane Society of Broward County. His community involvement also extends to the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival where he is chair-elect. He is also on the board of Directors of The Strategic Forum which works with Nova Southeastern University MBA students. Previously, he was board chair of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County.

Weber resides in Fort Lauderdale’s Rio Vista community with his wife Lucy, who is the immediate past chair of HANDY. They have two grown sons and a one-year-old grandson.

Kim Bokamper

A Northern California native, Kim Bokamper came to South Florida at 21, when he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins. Many South Floridians recognize Bokamper as one of the “Killer B’s” (used to describe the Defensive Line of the Miami Dolphins that helped take the Dolphins to the Super Bowl in the 1982 season). Bokamper is currently the sports anchor for CBS 4 and hosts “Dolphins Tonight,” a nightly radio show on WQAM. He also recently opened Bokamper’s Sports Bar and Grill in Plantation. Through his restaurant, Bokamper donates a portion of the proceeds on select menu items to Broward Health Foundation.

Bokamper is also active with other organization including American Cancer Society, SOS Children’s Village and the Humane Society of Broward County. He lives in Plantation with his wife and two daughters.

Gale M. Butler

Gale Butler, a Fort Lauderdale native, is the vice president of corporate affairs for AutoNation, reporting to Chairman and CEO of AutoNation, Mike Jackson.  Together with the executive management team, they steer corporate support toward worthy causes in South Florida, throughout the state and nationally.

Butler serves on the boards of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, United Way, Kids In Distress, Boys and Girls Clubs, Broward College, and Broward Health. She is a graduate of Leadership Broward, Leadership Florida, and Leadership America. Butler was named Mentor of the Year in 2004 for Take Stock in Children and is also a mentor in the Women of Tomorrow program. She lives in Fort Lauderdale and has one son, Todd, who is attending George Washington University in Washington, D.C. working toward his MBA.

  Jerome Hutchinson, Jr.

Jerome Hutchinson, Jr. is the Founder and President/CEO of ICABA™ Media Holdings, LLC, an integrated media company that publishes deluxe color profile directories of accomplished black professionals and entrepreneurs. ICABA™ is the company brand and is an acronym for Identifying Connecting and Activating the Black Accomplished.

 

Hutchinson brings 25 plus years of broadcast and marketing experience to the ICABA™ brand. Prior to launching ICABA™ Media Holdings, LLC, in 2008, Hutchinson enjoyed a successful career as a radio broadcasting executive. From 2002 through 2008, he served as General Sales Manager for three of the nation’s top five urban radio stations beginning with Houston’s KMJQ-FM, Majic 102, then Atlanta’s WVEE-FM, V-103, and last, with Miami’s WEDR-FM, 99JAMZ.

 

Since arriving in South Florida in 2005, Hutchinson has been active in the community serving on the boards of 100 Black Men of Greater Ft. Lauderdale, the Broward Alliance, Pam Hutchinson Bridge Builder Foundation, the Broward Workforce Development Board, the Broward Presidents Community Council, the Florida Memorial President’s Advisory Council, and the Broward Alliance Governor’s Council. He is also an alumnus of the 2008-09 Leadership Broward Class XXVII and a member of The Strategic Forum.

Hutchinson is the proud father of two (2) daughters, Kristin and Naomi. He is a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and resides in Davie, Florida.

Anne Kessler

Anne Kessler is a community activist, originally from Washington, D.C. She has an educational background in Art History and linguistics. In addition to extensive work in the retail and fashion industry, she managed a law office for ten years and has over 20 years experience as a writer and editor.

In addition to serving on the Board of the Broward Health Foundation, Kessler serves on the board of directors at the Broward College Foundation and is a member of both the Heritage Society and the President’s Club. Additionally, she is a contributing editor to the Chopin Foundation. Kessler is a pianist and artist, and speaks French, German, Italian, and has studied Latin. She now lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband and they are the proud parents of six grown children.

Frank Nask

Frank Nask is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Broward Health. He joined Broward Health in 2006 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed to his current role in January 2008.

Nask has previously served as CFO for a number of Florida health providers including Intracoastal Health System (Good Samaritan and St. Mary's) in West Palm Beach; Bayonet Point and Oak Hill hospitals. Prior to his work in Florida, he was CFO of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, a 650-bed teaching hospital; University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, in Newark.

Additionally, Nask was with the HCA Management Company serving as District Controller overseeing up to 12 managed facilities in the mid-Atlantic region. Nask is married and has 3 children and 1 grandchild. He frequently travels with his youngest son, who is a semi-professional bowler, to tournaments throughout the country.

Richard Paul-Hus

Richard Paul-Hus was appointed to the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners by Florida Governor Charlie Christ. His term runs from January 28, 2010 to June 29, 2013. Commissioner Paul-Hus is the Senior Vice President of Hypower, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale. The Paul-Hus family founded the company in 1991 with eight employees. Today the company has grown to become one of Florida’s largest specialty contractors with more than 300 employees. Commissioner Paul-Hus serves on the FY 2010 Board of Directors for Broward Alliance, Associated Builders and Contractors Federal Legislative Committee and various other local boards and committees. He has worked with a number of community and industry groups to broaden economic opportunity and enhance quality of life for South Floridians. Commissioner Paul-Hus was one of 20 business owners invited by Governor Charlie Christ recently, to participate in the statewide Small Business Summit in Tallahassee. He was also on hand when Governor Christ visited Florida’s largest building-integrated photovoltaic solar energy system. Commissioner Paul-Hus provided Governor Christ with information about the building’s hurricane-resistant solar laminates that were an integral part of the building’s solar energy system designed and installed by Hypower.

Commissioner Paul-Hus is a graduate of Stetson University in Deland, Florida. He is married to Colleen Ann Paul-Hus of Cincinnati, Ohio, and has two sons, Max and Theodore.

Joseph S. Rogers

Joseph S. Rogers is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Broward Health. In his role, Mr. Rogers provides oversight of business development, strategic planning, physician strategies, managed care operations, construction and real estate, and marketing. He also provides corporate oversight and support of daily operations of the health system and its various facilities. Mr. Rogers serves as chair of the Medicaid Reform Technical Advisory Panel for the Agency for Health Care Administration. The panel was created by the Florida Legislature to advise AHCA on various implementation issues with Medicaid reform. He is a member of the Medicaid Managed Care Reimbursement Workgroup. He also is a member of the Board of ChildNet; and the Special Needs Advisory Committee of the Broward County Children’s Service Council.

In 2010, Mr. Rogers was named Father of the Year for Broward County. Mr. Rogers received his MBA and bachelor’s degree in communications from Florida Atlantic University. He started his career in health care with Holy Cross Hospital in 1988, and moved to Jackson Memorial Hospital / Public Health Trust in 1989 where he held a variety of positions, including Executive Director of the JMH Health Plan, before being promoted to Senior Vice President with Jackson Health Systems in 2005.

Robert J. Roschman

Robert J. Roschman is president of Roschman Enterprises, a local development company involved in hospitality operations. Roschman has extensive real estate holdings with over 130 single purpose tenants. He is also a founding general partner of Cashel Capital and a founding member of Landmark Bank, N.A. He is the past secretary of The Museum of Discovery and Science and a member of the Palm Beach Chapter of The Young Presidents Organization.

Roschman lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife and two children.



Michael R. Yormark

Michael R. Yormark is President and Chief Operating Officer of Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the Florida Panthers. Yormark has built the organization into a comprehensive company with its values rooted in innovative marketing and public relations strategies, first-rate customer and client services, aggressive sales and diverse revenue pursuits.

He has been recognized for his and the company’s success through national awards and exposure such as the Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award, the Stanley Cup of Business, the City of Sunrise Business Leader Award, and the South Florida Business Journal’s Business of the Year Award Nomination. His South Florida community involvement includes serving as president of the Sunrise Foundation, board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County and a member of the Young President’s Organization. Yormark lives in Boca Raton with his wife and their daughter.
