The Pediatrix Medical Group 18th Annual Broward Health Foundation Golf Tournament raised close to $140,000 making this the most successful golf tournament in its 18-year history. The sold-out tournament, presented by Siemens/Med-Lab, was held at Weston Hills Country Club. Money raised will go towards the $60 million renovation and expansion of Chris Evert Children’s Hospital.
“This tournament has become one of the premiere golf tournaments in South Florida,” said Michael S. Long, president of the Broward Health Foundation. “We’re especially grateful for the continued generosity and support, especially in this economy, of our corporate sponsors and individual donors who helped us raise more money this year than ever before.” To date, the annual golf tournament has raised more than $1.1 million to benefit programs and services at Broward Health.
Sponsors included Aramark, Stericycle, Med Assets, Freedom Health, Turner Construction Company, Preferred Care Partners, Valic, Access Health Solutions, Sunshine State Health Plan, CVS Caremark and more.
A special thank you to volunteer coordinator Lori Perlman and volunteers Katie Anderson, Judy Boles, Lisa Davis, Dominick Destafano, Nora Figueroa, Cindy Hess, Patty Phelan, Robin Sheaks, Stuart Sloban, Traci Shur, Vania Vazquez, My Warhaftig and Alanna Yormark for helping to make the golf tournament so successful.
