American Heritage Pre-Med Society Honored by AFP

For the past ten years, students from the Pre-Med Society at American Heritage School have worked closely with Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, making a lasting impact to both the patients and the community. The Pre-Med Society, comprised of 200 students in grades 7-12, have raised close to $200,000 to benefit pediatric cancer patients. The students also fulfill the holiday wish lists of these patients and raise money for the hospital by organizing an annual 5K for a Better Day.

For all of their hard work and effort, the American Heritage Pre-Med Society was named the Outstanding Philanthropic Organization in Broward County by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

The Pre-Med Society, nominated by the Broward Health Foundation, was honored during the annual AFP luncheon that was held at Signature Grand. Previous award winners include the Miami Dolphins Foundation, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and Lorraine Thomas.

AFP represents more than 30,000 fundraisers in 212 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, and certification programs.
