Fourth Annual "Celebration of Smiles" Charity Ride: Bigger and Better!
Nearly 700 motorcyclists and hundreds of community members recently rallied for the Fourth Annual "Celebration of Smiles" Charity Ride. The Big Bike Riders Children’s Foundation, in conjunction with the Broward Health Foundation, donated proceeds from the ride to the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. Grand Marshall Glen Rice and Congressman Allen West were there to kick start the event at Broward Health Medical Center.
The Celebration of Smiles Ride started at 10AM from the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center—first heading east to the beach and then north to Bru’s Room in Coral Springs. The ride was preceded by an event which featured live music, a light breakfast for all registered riders, and acknowledgements from: Event organizer, Ron Catronio; Fort Lauderdale Mayor, John "Jack" Seiler; and CEO of Broward Health Medical Center & Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, James Thaw.
“My deepest gratitude goes to the Big Bike Riders Children’s Foundation and the Broward Health Foundation for all they have done for Chris Evert Children’s Hospital,” said Thaw. “Each year, this event gets bigger and better thanks to their support and dedication. It’s inspiring to see the community come together for a day of fun to support a wonderful cause.”
