Lillian S. Wells Women's Health Pavilion
Grand Opening of Lillian S. Wells Women’s Health Center at Broward Health Medical Center
The 13,000-square-foot state-of-the-art women’s center was made possible through a $4.5 million grant from the Lillian S. Wells Foundation to the Broward Health Foundation in 2009. Women from around the community were invited to participate in the design, color, and special touches offered at the center. As a result, the spa-like environment is not only beautiful, but offers the latest treatments by renowned women’s healthcare specialists, and is equipped with today’s most advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment. It’s a new kind of healthcare center—one that treats the whole woman, not just individual symptoms, focusing on helping women lead healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives.
Services include: Bone density screenings; specialized cardiac assessments and screenings; support groups; health and wellness classes; therapeutic massages; gynecological services; cosmetic services; magnetic resonance imagings (MRI); digital mammographies; and comprehensive women’s healthcare.
“Our goal is to provide the best possible health and lifestyle resources to all women,” said Jamey Thaw, CEO of Broward Health Medical Center. “Having a host of health care services and providers under one roof will make it more convenient for women to take care of their healthcare needs.”
The grand opening festivities featured appearances by well known women, including: Tennis great, Chris Evert; author and international speaker, Wendi Blum; and Olympic speedskater, Jen Rodriguez. There were also therapeutic massages, various medical screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations, yoga classes, and more.
