The Florida Committee for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve held its Annual Planning Awards Conference recently in Tampa where it presented the Above and Beyond Award to Broward Health.

Broward Health was submitted for the award at the regional U.S. Air Force Reserve office by Walter Horlacher, lead pressman, Broward Health Print Shop.  Horlacher is a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve and has served three tours of duty in the Middle East during his employment at Broward Health.  Broward Health won not only at the regional level, but also moved forward to receive top honors at the state level for Above and Beyond support of the Guard and Reserve.

La Rae Floyd, manager of Supplier Diversity, accepted the award on behalf of Frank Nask, CEO, Broward Health.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition and to work along side the dedicated employees of Broward Health who serve our country in the Guard and Reserve,” said Nask.

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve component members and their civilian employers, and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment.  Today, ESGR operates through a network of thousands of volunteers throughout the nation, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
