What is your name and title?
Angie Rojas, RN, Nurse Manager – Ambulatory Division – Urgent Care
How long have you worked at Broward Health?
Describe your typical work day:
My day usually starts with rounding on my team. I enjoy seeing everyone and making sure they have all the resources they need to be prepared and successful, and providing them with any departmental updates. I manage several urgent care sites, some days require traveling to each site. I typically have a few meetings scheduled in order to collaborate with other departments, marketing, patient access, radiology, to name a few
What motivates you to come to work each day?
Two things, my team and our patients. I really enjoy the relationship-building in the department and helping others succeed and meet goals. I am delighted to work with a team that gives 100% to ensure our patients receive the best healthcare we can offer. I feel it's important, to me personally, for Broward Health, and our patients, to provide excellent care and that the patient has a positive experience.
Why should patients choose Broward Health Urgent Care?
We provide meaningful and challenging work with confidence. Our patients receive great quality care and the best treatments known to get the best results for the diagnosis.
What advice would you give to a new employee just starting their career in healthcare?
Examine your strengths to understand what you can build on, never say no to help, and have the courage to step outside your comfort zone.
How do you like to relax?
I really enjoy live music and concerts, being at home with my family by the pool, spontaneous road trips.
What are you most proud of personally or professionally?
Personally, being a mom. It is by far the hardest and most rewarding accomplishment of my life. Professionally, becoming a leader in healthcare. I am so proud when my team reaches goals and when we receive compliments from patients.
What is on your music playlist?
I am really eclectic when it comes to music, it could be anything from Vance Joy, Luke Combs, Chris Tomlin, or Drake. To me, music is so meaningful. I love how hearing a song can take me back to a place or time in my life.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Florence Nightingale, of course. When she was 16 years old, she believed she heard a voice from God calling for her to carry out important work to help those suffering. She paved the way for nurses and I have always been fascinated with her life and experiences. I would love to hear about her memories and her struggles and strengths.
